Alpha Gamma Delta

Gamma Phi Chapter at Georgia Institute of Technology

Chapter Philanthropy & Service

Our Purpose and the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation

Our Purpose illustrates how we want to interact with the Atlanta and Georgia Tech communities through service and philanthropy. The Gamma Phi chapter works to end hunger by participating in food drives, raising money for Meals on Wheels Atlanta, and packaging food for local shelters. Through the service opportunities in our community and our philanthropic support of our international philanthropy, we have impacted thousands of lives.

Contributing to the World’s Work in the Community where I am Placed

At Georgia Tech, Alpha Gamma Delta has created a legacy of involvement in numerous causes around campus and around the world from For the Kids, Hope Lodge, and Autism peer mentoring. Alpha Gams love to support other Greek organizations in their philanthropy events! Our sisters have participated in races and dance marathons as well as attended dinners and comedy shows to support philanthropic organizations. Our sisters also love competing for a good cause and have won multiple philanthropic competitions and tournaments hosted by fraternities on campus.

Alpha Gam Madness

This year was the second annual Alpha Gam Madness competition. Alpha Gam Madness is a bracket competition between on-campus organizations. The winning organization receives 50% of the profits as a donation to their philanthropy. In this event, we encouraged healthy lifestyles and getting involved and active. Near the end of March we host a proceeds night at a local restaurant to encourage people to come out and watch a NCAA basketball game with our lovely sisters!

Poker and Pearls

Our annual Poker and Pearls event raises money for Meals on Wheels Atlanta. Each year, we host a poker tournament at our home. We also aim to educate members of the Georgia Tech community on hunger in our local community, and how each person can get involved in ending hunger.

Alpha Gamma Delta’s Annual Week of Service

This year was our second annual Week of Service. Gamma Phi had a week themed around giving back and being thankful for our community. We wrote Valentine’s Day themed thank you cards for all of the members who have supported each sister and showed our thanks to the Georgia Tech Police Department by delivering  baked goods and notes. Lastly, we finished the week by sending sisters to FurKids Animal Shelter to volunteer!
